Mixed Feelings All Around

Recently, I have been experiencing mood swings.

If I go to school, I will be happy. But when I cross the causeway, I will be grumpy. Cause bad hair day totally does not make my day!

If I drive to somewhere, I will be happy. But when I think of the nearly-accident scene, I will be frightened and all my goose pimples will stand out!

If I start to draw, I will be happy. But when it's too many, it's a havoc and I start to get lazy. For the first week, there's 6 Gong Bi drafts, 3 stars design and 20 3d Studies to be completed. And mind myself, all my homework is in DRAWING FORM! Ok this is still alright, I think I love it, just that it's starting to get a lot. ( I didn't even dare to continue to read my modules schedules, 'cause at future weeks, there will be 100 pieces of drawings to be completed!!!!!)

If I start to think of my friends, I will be happy. But when it's quite some time I do not meet them, I will be concerned and upset a bit =/

If I start to think of Jeffrey, I will be happy ( extra happy). But when it's quite some time ( almost 3 bloody months), I will jump to my bed and cry a sea of tears.

Erm, anyway, this is such a random post. I'm in an urge feeling of being entertained. So, please entertain me people. I guess I just miss everyone too much. Speechless & numb.

Questions waiting to be Answered

1. Anyone knows how much is an average Che Che New York bag? They are too pretty and I feel like buying one for Momma's birthday!

2. Anyone tried to poke extra shoelace holes at the sneaker or shoes? I heard that you can actually buy the ring too. =/ I need this!!!

3. Can someone acc me to watch The Dark Knight? I've been dying to watch it for soOOO LONG but I couldn't date anyone =(

4. Anyone knows where can I buy a blank puzzle? I've tried Muji but unfortunately it's not the right destination for it.

5. Anyone interested in doing the shoes? Hope to find some reliable trusty partners. I really wish to increase my number of hands but I couldn't.

After a long day at school. Woke up at 5, came back at 9. Same routine for schooldays. But it was AWESOME yet TIRING. Too tiring to be elaborated here. Till then. Please, babes, do clear my urgent doubts!

First Day of School

5.45 a.m. - Woke up reluctantly

6.30 a.m. - Mum drove us to downtown.

7.00 a.m.- Reached JB checkpoint. A HAVOC Monday as usual. Dad insisted to travel by bus '11' but I insisted to take the real bus. I loudly claimed how bad hair days spoil my mood the whole day. But it was too jam ( regardless of motorcycles, cars or buses) so I gave up & we walked along the causeway.

7.30 a.m.- Reached Woodlands checkpoint. There was no queue at the access card lanes. I couldn't even see the end of the crowd. Hence, I forced myself to squeeze into that pool of sweat, bad breath & sticky figures. It was horrible & maybe this is one of the most terrible time ever.

8.20a.m.- Dad drove me to Nafa in light speed. The lorry had to pass 3 ERPs. Bloody Hell.

8.56a.m.- Reached Nafa. Tried to search for Room 6-03 & Mimi and the rest of the Fine Art Students.

9.15a.m.- Still being confused by the ridiculous lift. There's actually two parts of Campus 1. Some rooms are at the left side, while some rooms are at the right. We're all at 6th storey, and the only way to get to the other side is to take the lift down to 3th storey and walk across the corridor. And there's 10 THOUSAND people trying to get the very convenient, accessible lift.

9.30a.m.- In the end, we still couldn't get to 6-03, the meeting was cancelled as mentioned, and we went to 6-12.

9.40a.m.- Lesson started. We had to finish 10 line figure sketches. Gotta know Angela, a very pretty classmate and we sat to together to do our work. The class was FREAKING quiet. I could only hear the screeching of pencils writing on papers. Later, there's little murmurs and quiet conversation between everyone. Angela and I started to chat too.

11.15a.m.- Completed the sketches. Went for lunch with Angela, Rashmi, Photography Boy ( I didn't know his name), Danya and Wenfung at Fortune Center. Had a fun time with them. Like what they say, you don't need to try very hard to get friends ( cuz we met someone being OVER friendly), it's just the click together factor and that'll make the day.

12p.m- Headed to Parco Bugis Junction. Rummaged through every shop, chit chatted, gotta know each other's background & stories ( seriously all of us are sooO different!) Rashmi came here 3 months ago with her HUSBAND ( Nus PhD! Double Exclaim!!)! So cool! While cheerful Danya was from Temasek JC, NUS Financing Degree?( I think so), worked for two years and a half told herself not to regret for not learning things she loved, hence she came to Nafa.

1p.m.- Headed to Bugis Street. Trying to find the cheapest leggings for Rashmi. Yet in vain.

2p.m.- The gang left. Angela and I continued slacking around the busy street. She bought a cute blouse while I got mum a belt =)

2.30p.m- Went back to school and AGAIN, we couldn't find our classes. Panted & sweated horrendously.

3.00p.m.- Class started. Miss Tang will be teaching us History of Visual Arts. I hate this subject cuz I never do it well in JC. Well, as assumed, it's sheer BORING. I kept copying all the notes while Miss Tang continued ranting her non-melancholic pilgrims. Eve, our class rep said that we should have handouts ( AGREE totally!) rather than just copying blankly.

5.30p.m.- Class ended!!! I went to Post Office but it's closed. =( Gotta send the parcels on Wednesday then. Babu came & fetched me while I bought him some Healthy Tuna Buns from 4 leaves.

7.00p.m- Reached Singapore Checkpoint. SUPER JAM just like the morning. Repeated the same routine as what is written at 7.30a.m.

9.00p.m.- Reached home. EVENTUALLY. Bathed, Ate dinner, went to Pasar Malam. Bought mangosteen & durians. Chatted with dear Jeffrey.

11p.m- Applied a good Skinfood Cucumber mask & headed down to the pile of shoes.

2p.m.- Jumped into my bed and dream of you....z..zZZZ...zzz

Module registration did not make my day

Before the title above, AT LAST I EVENTUALLY found out my class, and maybe I'm the last to find out. I've been asking thousands of people around! I am so dumb! It's just right there at the online module registration page!!

=O Thank you Mimi & Xiaorui. Paiseh man!!!!

----------------

When I reached the campus around 2, everyone was there! Really gotta be that kiasu in order to got your ideal module.

So today's the module registration for Semester 1, and I thought I just went to a wet market. Everyone was talking in loudest volume, some seniors giving out the application forms and everyone was trying to snatch the papers.

& if you're late, you will get the rotten vege & fish. My first choice- Intro to illustration design is full, fuLL, FULL. I was berserk, cuz for half an hour I'd been queueing at the Design & Media line, now I gotta change my plan!

So I rushed down to the next stall, Fine Art Room, and I chose Intro to Gong Bi, and I was the second last to register for that module! Everything just seemed like a market war to me.

All the finest fish had been sold to the kiasu ones, while the rotten stuff is all left on the floor, you got no choice but to pick up the leftovers. Not a very good system ( Can I say this system is awful to the core??) You pay so much to study here but in the end, you can't even get the modules you are really interested. What if within these 3 years, all the things you get are not your desirable ones?

Mimi came at 3, and guess what ( ok no need to guess actually), everything's full. She'd got nothing besides the fixed modules & photography. No more modules hanging around. & I really couldn't stand at one male senior that is horizontally challenged. Very rude to the crowd. I know it's not a very pleasant thing to announce to us, where alot of us didn't even know what was actually going on, can't you be a bit more patient?

Nevertheless, Mimi & I parted from the campus, & I was feeling a bit mixed up. But she taught me to think of a better way, lesser modules are better too! YeahhH~~~~ she's partly right, cuz there will be no school on Tuesday & Friday!

Still, I'm really disappointed today. Not at myself, but at this module system thingy. Rewind back to the first few paragraphs...Miss Josephine took away my application form ( meaning approved)yet she didn't even write my name down until the staff reminded her!)

For goodness sake...

Visit to UTM

Zenzen and I, and I think we do look alike. Big button noses & minute eyes. We went to UTM ( M'sia Technological University Johor branch) that bright afternoon... to... just to send the shoes to my customer lah -_-''' And because this Sabahan is so 38 and wanna explore more about the place where I'm currently living in.

I asked Zen to take a good picture to model the shoes. Not bad, but too bad I look awful =(

The board reads, WARNING NO GUYS ARE ALLOWED TO ENTER THIS PLACE... BLAH BLAH BLAH... UNLESS PERMITTED. So you can say my brother is definitely illegal right away.

I realise that big campuses tend to have fruit trees planted around the hall of residence. Not a bad idea actually, cuz you can grab all the rambutans & starfruits to eat. But if it's durian, the students should better wear a helmet!

Dilemma in my shoes & school

As the title mentioned above, I was in a deep sea of dilemma right now.

A lot of unpleasant things happened in Tenladytoes. There was delivery failure by Poslaju, customers claiming of nice designs but not the perfect size fit, & customers requesting for many draft designs.

I'm not blaming them. They are my customers & customers are always right. But doing draft designs again & again is really tiring & saddening. It's like... once again, your design is rejected...again & again. Just like how last year the Art Elective Teachers treated us.

Hope that I should take this as a challenge instead of a disappointment. Can someone cheer me up?

I know Jeffrey never comes up here too... It's devastating... It's so not me. It's a different kind of upset feeling this time, I don't know why...

----- Ok fine, so end of part 1----

Morning's a sheer disaster. Nafa orientation started at 9:30a.m. I woke up at 6 but I still got late! The bus was awfully late, jammed at Danga Bay for an hour, furthermore it's not news for jamming along the causeway & checkpoints too. When I reached school, it's already 9:50a.m.

Thank god they're still registering.

The speech from the big people were kinda long, but it's alright for me ( which was unexceptionally peculiar). I guess Fine Art people are kinda good, there's even a new coursemate Rashmi who emailed me the day before! That's such a sweet thing, if you're here, thank you Rashmi for the warm welcome, even though I didn't see you face to face haha.

But ya, as usual, 1st day of schools & orientations, to me, these kinda of things really were not my forte. From the first day I entered Tshung Tsin, from the first day I entered Woodgrove ( Ainon & Jo were the first two to talk to me!), from the first day I entered Nanyang JC, from the first day I entered Nafa, it's just the same. I will stay cool & calm, not a word from my mouth, trying my best to lift up the corner of my lips to throw out a smile. But I still think that people around me look nice though.

& & & the first friend I knew was Mimi, a pretty Japanese who speaks fluent English. She's from the Japanese School and she majors in Western Painting too. Good start huh.

As for the module thingy, I've really gone bonkers about this cuz it's totally different from the JC system. But it's alright, cuz we two girls eventually figured out what it what. I don't really mind what I take, cuz every modules seems interesting, I just wish to reduce my school days.

Hence, reaching for the mouse, my finger clicked on the button for Photography. Yay, and that means no school for Tuesday! But yet yet yet, the cool HoD told us that we were not allocated to our classes.

Yea right, I've been a tad too early to be happy.

& it's a tired day, & it's a day with lots of thinking, lots of swirling in my mind. For 8 months I've taken my holidays, and now I'm back to school again. So I shall forget all the sorrowness today, tell myself that business is not an easy thing to deal with, and it's just the starting of small matters, and it will lead you to a higher level.... all those craps.

That's how all the craps lighten up my mood again.

Touching day

I had a very happy yesterday.

Special thanks to ...
1.Babu who fetched me to Jurong East
2. Jasmine Foo, a great buddy & movie go-er
3. Red Cliff the Movie part 1. It's a bit laggy in the middle, but I swear it's definitely way too AWESOME!!
4. Hueyjia & Auyeong, the twosome of I don't know where to start & to end, cuz they're too cute ( as usual), less bitchy ( not very usual), but still that close to heart!
5. Mr Goh to give me my pretty A level certificate ( though it's relatively useless)
6. Meng whom I also don't know where to start * end, cuz she's too sweet ( as usual), and I always love our heart contented chat.
7. Dream's Elegance so that that pair will make Meng happy.
8. Hueyjia's BIG letter & Auyeong FUNNY letter, to make me smile in heart & lips.
9. Jeffrey's phonecall when I was struggling along the causeway back to JB. I miss him a lot...
10. Mum & Zen to fetch me
11. Oh yes, and Louis to help me wash my hair to mark the day from a bad hair day to a good hair day!

I was exhausted, but it's a touching day. I shall talk about it more next time, cuz...
1. My laptop's spoilt!
2. Our dining room pc's burnt!
3. Our upstairs common room pc's gone bonkers too!

Heck! That means no updates. Buh-bye everyone, till then...

Some faults of English Style to be avoided

I've read upon a chapter when trying to teach Zenzen better English.

----

A student who tries to produce a certain effect, sometimes goes to extremes and produces a different result from what he/she intends. Some of the main pitfalls into which students stumble are given below:

Pedantry
This is indicated when the student tries his/her best to show off and pretend that he/she has great learning. He/she thus introduces useless facts and details in a conceited manner. He/she uses long & supposedly learned words to give a high-sounding quality to his/her work.

He/she prefers to say...

1. " The custodian of the law" instead of "policeman"
2. "In all human probability" instead of "most likely"/"most probably"
3. "Lunar effulgence" instead of "moonlight"
4. " The nasal organ"/"The most prominent feature" instead of "nose"
5. "Tensorial artist" instead of "barber"
6. "Maternal relative" instead of "mother"
7. "Metamorphosis" instead of "change"

---

Really funny. Imagine you're asking your mum for a piece of cheesecake, you should say, " Can I have a piece of cheesecake, dear maternal relative?" ( Like not very shou with your mum)

OR

you're trying to say your nose is stucked, you should say, " Oh for pete's sake, my nasal organ/ most prominent feature is unable to absorb air particles." ( Like writing a chem/bio essay)

OR

you're trying to comment someone that he has changed a lot in appearance, you should say, " You have a massive metamorphosis!" ( Sounds like Transformers or Power Rangers)

OR

you're trying to shout to the policeman, you should say," Mr. Custodian of the Law!!! He snatched my purse!" ( I bet the thief had fled far away even before you can complete your sentence)

Enough of the lame jam, this is just one of the funny things I've found out & learnt about from the experience of giving tuition.

Memories at the little pineapple village

It's my eldest brother's birthday & we decided to have a short trip to Pekan Nanas.
- To get some vege seeds
- To get some more flowers
- To devour the famous durians ( July's the start of durian season) & pineapples there!

Located at Pontian district, this little village is one of the highest pineapple production in the world, regardless of fresh or canned, their apples with pines are undoubtedly the best!

Introducing Aunt LJ, Winnie( Wanling) & OnnOnn ( I forgot his Christian name)

So first up for the trip will be the search of fine quality vegetables seeds. We've gotten some seeds that will never grow from some frustrating sellers in town, so Uncle Yong introduced us to this shop famous for their fresh seedlets! We were told that the seeds should be planted within a week, if not you gotta put them in the fridge=) Interesting info though.

Ain't my mum pretty?

Ok, seriously this birthday boy does not look like a phD scholar in any ways any proportions any perspectives. Still, happy birthday my naughty Coco!!

Their rainbow colours capture my heart! Aren't these tiny feathered creatures the cutest? So next up, we took a brief teatime at a nearby coffee shop. No bread & milo for teatime, but DURIANS.

Here goes all the unglam photos of how people devour the King of Fruits in all sorts of ways.

Aunt LJ is a born joker. All the pictures I took of her today are extremely unglam.

I am no big fan of the porcupine lookalike fruit, but you must try their durians when you're here! Not too slimy, not too strong, not too sweet, the taste's just right.

Oh ya, and the other family group will be Uncle Yong and family who're so kind to take us city-nerds tour around the village.

Pineapples ( of some species) are actually sold at RM1.00 each ONLY.

Unglam Aunt LJ again -_-'''

Ok so this is one slightly humanlike shot.

Little yellow bananas!
After the long afternoon, we went up to Uncle Yong's old house. Two big geese greeted us with their "dinosaur roaring" gackling callings. Believe it or not, Uncle Yong claimed that these two creatures scared thieves away better than the dogs! Not only their voices are attention grabbing, but they will snatch your butt!

Neat vege beds.
Ruff ruff cute shi-tzu
Aunt Yong then taught each of us how to use the rambutan cutter to get some of the ripe red bloody rambutans. When the fruits are not ready to be eaten, the trees & garden will be in a peace. But when red fruits start to blossom, monkeys will set up their homes there! Evil huh!

Recognise the unripe dragonfruit? Even the leaves look like dragon's tail.

Cackle Cackle Cackle! But actually they're kinda cute cuz I like their round butts.
Jie Lan

I had my Hainanese Black Coffee! It tastes heavenly! Seriously Uncle Yong you should kick off Starbucks's oversweetened drinks.

& charcoal baked Kaya Bun. Highly reccommended!

This is how a happy day is formed. Visiting the little village is like reminiscing my life in Sabah. After living in the city for 3 years, I still strongly believe that one day, or when I get old & grey, I will move into a little cottage and just lead a beautiful life there in the village or hills. I thought I can drastically revamped into an IN city girl, but no. Even though my feet step onto the urban areas, my inner child is still a plain Jane kampung girl. I really love that though.

When I first came to Singapore, some people curiously asked me, do Sabahans live on trees & in longhouses? I was a bit annoyed, but if you ask me again this time, I will smile & say, Yes, some do, and it's the best thing in life.

Read my previous post first

Before tuition started, I brought Wanling out for our teatime at Secret Recipe. Everything sounded and looked pleasant. Wonderful Saturday.

Check out her awesome bangs! & her Oreo Cheesecake.

Ok please don't check out my bangs that is not awesome at all. I had Yogurt Cheese.

But check out my straw weave bag! I got it for only Rm9.00 at The Store & added on my favourite pink flower. We had Chocolate with Whipped Cream.

& I thought what a wonderful Saturday it was.

Right after our teatime, a stupid car nearly banged us ( in our car), at the + Junction nearby the market!!!! That darn woman!!! If it wasn't me fast enough to step on the break, both of us would have been in the hospital now.

I AM NOT KIDDING.

Worse or what, that darn darn woman didn't stop, but she continued to dash away!

Now I guess it's understandable why I declare myself as potentially unabled to withstand the shock of the aggressive road dashers, not only along the causeway, but everywhere here in the city. I never see such ridiculous people at KK=/

What a WONDERFUL saturday it was.
