Happy Malaysia's National Day cum Mum's birthday

Once in a while, I got some peculiar comments and funny questions about my nationality.

" Are you from China?" ( For goodness sake they are all so fair, do I look like one?)

" Obviously you're not from Singapore..." ( Ya thanks to my heavy mandarin accent with lots of hakka & canto & malay campur-ing like rojak inside)

" Are you from the Phillipines?" ( Well, if Sabah is being grabbed off by them few decades ago I would definitely be one)

" Are you from Hawaii?" ( Hello?? This is so funny! I know I am not tan, not fair, just not the right colour, loves bohemian style and maxi dress, but do you see me wearing the long grassy skirt and coconut bra???)

& I am here to say, hi guys, I'm Zhi Wei and I'm from Sabah, Malaysia. ( Seriously I love introducing myself to me myself not others) And Happy 51st birthday to you, old girl! ( Since people regard countries as "she" so perhaps Malaysia is actually a girl)

Ok, and right now, I know it's such a late post to show off my chestful of patriotism towards this Jalur Gemilang, but holiday's finally here and I can eventually relax down and type out this blah blah lengthy post.

Beautifully captured piece of the flags of Sabah, the land below the wind, and Malaysia's Jalur Gemilang. And now I'm attempting to rant out all the pros and cons of this country of mine.

1. We complain here and there and we get subsidized fees for the petrol, but we ended up queueing up in the post office for 6 hours for that RM600+, while the staff claiming not enough cash to give out.

2. Well, I love the bloodily red Hibiscus ( our national flower)

3. We have the highest car accident rate worldwide which makes me hate driving more and more. Some purposely takes the priority to "bully" me on the road when they see my big "P" ( Trial driving sign) at the car. Same goes to all the people who just get their driving licenses.

4. I have a love-hate relationship at the tropical weather here. It's scorchingly hot that I smell like a fox after perspiring. It rains and I could not wake up for school. But when I travel to countries with different climates, my skin ended up getting flaky or even rashes all around.

5. People outside know us for our shaky politics, bad looking crime rate and all the makan suap incidents too. But of course, in terms of degree of politics transparency, it's definitely better than some other countries.

6. We definitely have lots of beautiful places around. Beaches, mountains, caves, and the list goes on.

7. Chinese students who score 11As actually fail to get into a Malaysia's university. While once in a while, my grandpa told me that some doctors are almost illiterate. No offence, but this is really true-er than anything else.

8. Woots! We have lots of places to go around all year round! Whether it's urban or village, we've got it right here.

9. I wish for lesser rapists, robbers, thieves, drug addicts not only here, but the whole world.

10. The food is never a thumb down sign I tell ya. Yeehaa~~~

Ok, I'm getting tired right after only 10 points. 41 more points to go. Can I just say...

Happy Birthday to mum!!!!

I love you a lot though today you scolded me for losing my wallet ( more about that later), although you did not pass me your high nose gene to me, although you always make fun of me, I still love you the most!!!

Yawn, it's 3 am and I really gotta sleep and start my term break well!
